LaserTube Cutting was born in early 2000 as a subsidiary company of Tubes (UK) Ltd, one of the country's leading Structural Hollow Section & Tubes stockists. We started off with processing stainless steel hollow sections on our original LT651 machine for the coach building industry and it grew from there.

We rapidly accounted for the capacity on our first machine and in 2003 we purchased a second machine, the LT652. At the same time we began to diversify our customer base and put into place a small and highly trained team to manage the business. In October 2005 the company became a separate company within the Barrett Steel group with our own in-house sales and commercial team specialising in the profiling of Tubes & Hollow Sections in Mild Steel, Stainless & Aluminium.

 As the business continued to grow we maintained our investment in new machinery. In May 2006 we took delivery of a third machine, the LT712D, and in September 2006 we placed an order for the biggest Tube Laser in the world, the Adige Jumbo together with a slightly smaller machine, the LT Combo which arrived in February 2007. This machine can profile tubes up to 225 mm diameter and 6 m long.

Also in February 2007 we began work to extend the Laser Unit to 100,000 sq. foot to allow for the arrival of the Jumbo. On November 9th 2007 the Adige Jumbo arrived on 9 lorries.

The latest addition to our tube lasers, the Jumbo Laser, is now in place and can process Tubes up to 508 mm in diameter, Hollow Sections up to 400 mm x 400 mm and Square Hollow Sections up to 500 mm x 300 mm in thicknesses up to 16mm including weld preparations, with a maximum input length of 18m and finished lengths of 15m.

In addition to our laser tube cutting machines we also have in-house two ring rollers and two mandrel tube bending machines.
